FAQ

  • Are the kitchens fully weather proof ?
All the finished models are painted or stained in hard wearing outdoor paint. This is typically from the Cuprinol "shades' range and so are good for 6-7 years. The counter tops or stained models are protected with Johnstones/Ronseal which again is good for 5-6 years. The 'naked' version of the kitchen is unfinished and allows you to put your own finish on however we do recommened you protect it upon collection. As with all outdoor furniture they will age and weather but this is natural. If you want to keep the finish for may years, we suggest placing a plastic cover over them, similar to the covers you get for BBQ and other outdoor furniture.
  • What are the kitchens made from ?
The majority of the kitchen is made from locally sourced pallet wood. The frame is from FCS certified wood whilst the hobs are from tree slices. Any metal parts such as the fixings for the hobs are chrome/stainless steel to stop rust. The legs are bevelled to stop water ingress at the base and rubber feet added for further protection.
  • Do the kitchens come with any accessories ?
Yes indeed ! If you choose the 'naked' version it still comes with the S hooks for hanging utensils, 4 are provided and the stainless steel bowl(s) Feet included. If you choose the most popular version, the 'Finished' model you get all the accesories like utensils, baking trays, flower pot, sieve and various bowls etc. This varies as we add more items. You also get the chalkboard for the kids to add their names or mud menu together with chalks. Finally every kitchen comes with a Mud Kitchen sign
  • Are the bowls removeable ?
Yes the bowl(s) are stainless steel are can be removed for filling with water or for cleaning.
  • I love them, can I get one now !"
Whilst we would love to have them sitting around, they are handmade and bespoke so we build to order. Typically we can build, paint and have one ready in 7-10 days.
  • Can I have a bespoke kitchen made to my requirements ?
Yes indeed. Every kitchen is different because of the nature of the wood but we also offer options on bowl combination, 1 or 2 and if two you can choose between together or at either end. We find the latter option quite popular with children who prefer not to 'share' though they do need to share the dials and hobs in the middle ! We also offer different heights for the counter top though if younger/smaller children need a helping hand we are offering a step all made from the same materials and matching colours.
  • Are they easy to move around ?
They dont weigh that much, around 15KG and one person could manage them but they are bulky so we suggest two people carry them. Remember the back comes off so that makes it easier for transportation.
